Producing Countries of Sugar.
This map shows specifically where sugarcane is grown throughout the world and where sugar is produced. It showcases that Brazil is in fact the highest producing country of sugar in the entire world. India is the second highest producing country of sugar, followed by China. This choropleth map shows how spacially distributed sugar production is around the world, taking place in the northern and southern hemispheres. The map also shows that by a large margin Brazil and India are the top producers of sugar and many other countries produce sugar, but on a smaller scale.
This pie graph shows the World Sugar Production in 2010-2011 in ten different places in the world. It is clearly shown again, that Brazil is the leading producer of sugar in the world, followed by India. It is shown that Brazil produces 39,5 million tons of sugar in this time frame, followed by India with 26,5 million tons.
Figure 1 shows the World Sugar Production in ten different places in the world. It shows the two different ways sugar can be obtained, through sugarcane, sugar beet and the two together, in different countries. It is showcased, yet again that Brazil is the top producing country of Sugar, followed by India.
This pie graph shows the largest producers of raw sugar as a percentage. It is shown that Brazil and India are large producers of raw sugar compared with 22 and 15% compared to countries like Australia with only 3%.
